Survivors pick up pieces from

CONCORD, Ala. (AP) - Survivors of the nation's deadliest tornado outbreak in nearly four decades are struggling with little electricity and help as they try to figure out how to put their lives back together.

Crews combed the remains of houses and neighborhoods looking for bodies and any possible survivors of Wednesday's storms. On Friday, President Barack Obama plans to visit Tuscaloosa, Ala. The city that's home to the University of Alabama had 36 deaths.

At least 297 have been killed across six states. At least 210 died in Alabama alone.

Those who took shelter as the storms descended trickled back to their homes, ducking police roadblocks and fallen limbs and power lines to reclaim belongings.

They are also frustrated by gawkers who drive by in search of a cellphone camera picture.
