中日钓鱼岛争议持续升温，日本媒体报道，两艘中国解放军护卫舰在离钓鱼岛百多公里附近海域出现，是日本购岛事件后首次有中国军舰在区内出现。
日本媒体报导称，两艘中国海军护卫舰19号傍晚，出现在钓鱼岛西北偏北约150公里的海域，即距离钓鱼岛列岛80海里。这是日本声称所谓国有化钓鱼岛后，首次在相关海域发现中国海军军舰。
据悉，两艘军舰是054A型护卫舰，属于中国海军目前最先进的舰艇之一。排水量4039吨，最大航速28节。可发射防空导弹、反潜火箭助推鱼雷等多种武器。而军舰上的反舰导弹采用两具四联装鹰击-83导弹。有分析指出，中国军舰出现的位置，可让反舰导弹覆盖钓鱼岛海域是应对日本海上自卫队。
而日本首相野田佳彦19号晚在一电视节目中首次承认判断有误，低估买岛事件中国的反应，反日示威的规模也超出预期，他考虑派特使访华修补两国关系，除了外交渠道还会寻求通过政经界人士同中方展开沟通。
日本外相玄叶光一郎也说，希望稍后到纽约出席联合国大会期间，有机会与中国外长杨洁篪会谈。玄叶强调，要加强同中方沟通，避免误解和误判令事态进一步升级。
另外，共同社报道，中方已通知日方中日邦交正常化四十周年纪念仪式，会如期下星期四在北京举行，消息指，中方认为即使缩小仪式的规模，也应该继续保持民间交流，中日友好协会会长唐家璇将会主持晚宴。
但两国民间交流继续受到影响，日中经济协会20号宣布，定于25号起访问北京的访华团规模，将从175人大幅缩小至20人，并已开始就此事与中方展开协调。另原定于20号起在上海举行的“日中绿色博览会”也在19号被取消。

编者注：054A型护卫舰是中国人民解放军海军最新型的护卫舰等级，北约代号“江凯II”级，目前有11艘在役，不少于4艘在建，前级的054型护卫舰（北约称“江凯I”级）有2艘在役。首舰徐州号（530）于2006年9月30日在广州黄埔造船厂下水，2008年进入现役。舰身设计与054型护卫舰相仿，然而其火力等方面却要远强于054型护卫舰，为中国人民解放军海军装备的第一种区域防空型护卫舰。（资料来源：维基百科）
