Doug Wright, known as famous Ice Division in the world, was honoured by so many Chinese people.  As his interpreter, I went to Huairou Curling Club in Beijing in the Youth Race at Curling Pacific in 2006. When we met for the first time, he smiled and told me that he would make me happy. He did it and he made all people with him happy. Even some boys who picked ice garbage working for him on the ice ground loved him and worked very hard although they hated the work at first.

Mr. Doug Wright worked very hard and got up very early every morning. I had to serve him for his food and anything else very hard as well:-). But we were all glad doing anything for him and even forgot our hard working because of him. There, he unreservedly taught the Chinese engineer how to spread evenry sprinkle on the freezing point, and how to make ice apply just for the athletes. The food of Pizza, pasta of Italy, Pepsi-Cola was his favourt. Only liked to eat mushrooms of Chinese food and he must drink very cold Pepsi, and even put the Pepsi on ice in the coldest day in winter. Doug Wright, who was wearing a thin cashmere sweaterit, said it was not cold in Beijing, although all Chinese with the thick down jacket, including me, were shivering on the ice ground during the hours of work.

National women's team coach, Tan Weidong said that he did not preserve the secret but wanted to teach you everything and even gave you the latest edition of Curling's books from Canada, generous sent you his best informations. Tan said that none of them did not like him. Finally coach Tan said that he could feel Bethune's spirit from him. Too rare to see in this world, Tan commented.

Doug Wright is a very kind gentleman with a lot sense of humor. He was so kind that he still made everyone arround him happy even when his older sister was in the disease of cancer in a hospital. When he asked me to pray for his sister secretly, I knew he was hiding his sadness in his heart deeply. I watched his moist eyes with a respectful feelings. He reminded me of Dr. Norman Bethune.

I thought I would forget him after six years later, but God knows, I still clearly remembered every second of our work together. Canada, a small population but a lot of heros like Norman Bethune, Mr. Doug Wright, and Dashan. If someone here knows the world famous Doug Wright, please convey my greetings to him and tell him that he is still remembered by all Chinese people whom he worked together before.
